Special Lecture by Ambassador of Oman at Dongguk Univ. in Gyeongju 2016-05-05

 

 

A Special Lecture by Arab Diplomatic Corps hosted by the Korea-Arab Society was held on 29th April 2016 at Dongguk university in Gyeongju. H.E Mohamed Salim Alharthy, Ambassador of Oman to Korea was invited to deliver the lecture under the subject of "The Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Sultanate of Oman". He delivered the lecture about history and culture, society of Oman as well as economic cooperation between Korea and Oman.

 

 He also explained that there has been trade relations between Silla Dynasty, an old kingdom of Korea and Oman since the time of Silk Road, and asked the students of Dongguk university to pay tribute to the history of relations between Oman and Korea and take more interest in the matter to strengthen the relations as students of Gyeongju city, the capital of Silla Dynasty.

  

 The Ambassador also met with Professor Mie Jung Kim, the Dean of Korea Slk Road Research Institute, and pointed out that there is not many researches or evidences of the trade relations between the two countries in the time of Silk road. He suggested a joint research of Government of Oman, Dongguk university and Korea-Arab society to find evidences of the Silk Road trade relations.
