Privacy Policy

Korea-Arab Society processes personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other relevant laws. To protect the personal information and rights of data subjects, we have established the following Privacy Policy.

Article 1. Purpose of Personal Information Processing

The Korea-Arab Society does not use personal information for any purpose other than those stated below. If the purpose of use changes, we will obtain consent before processing the data.

Article 2. Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information

1. The Korea-Arab Society processes personal information only within the scope specified for collection and use. The retention period follows the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws, or the period agreed upon by the data subject at the time of collection.

2. The processing and retention periods for each type of personal information collected and stored by Korea-Arab Society are as follows:

Article 3. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives

Data subjects may exercise the following personal information protection rights with respect to the Korea-Arab Society at any time:

① Request to Access Personal Information

Personal information files held by the Korea-Arab Society can be accessed upon request in accordance with Article 35 (Access to Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act. However, access may be restricted in cases specified in Article 35, Paragraph 4 of the Act.

② Request for Correction or Deletion

Data subjects may request corrections or deletions of their personal information under Article 36 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act. However, if the information is required by law to be collected, deletion may not be possible.

③ Request for Processing Suspension (Withdrawal of Consent)

Data subjects may withdraw their consent for the collection, use, and provision of personal information through their newsletter subscription at any time. However, if legal or contractual obligations require the retention of personal information, processing restrictions may apply.

  • -Withdrawal of consent can be requested through the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter or by contacting the Korea-Arab Society office via mail, phone, or email.
  • -For identification purposes, the request must include the email address and verification details of the requester. Withdrawal may result in restrictions on services or the inability to use certain features.

Article 4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Korea-Arab Society does not process or provide users' personal information beyond the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Personal Information Processing) without prior consent. However, personal information may be processed in the following cases:

  3. ③ When the data subject is unable to express intent (e.g., unconscious, missing) and it is necessary for the protection of their life, body, or property

  6. ⑥ When necessary for criminal investigations, prosecution, or maintenance of legal proceedings

  8. ⑧ When necessary for the execution of sentences, protective custody, or other legal enforcement measures

Article 5. Disposal of Personal Information

The Korea-Arab Society promptly destroys personal information once the retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved.

① Destruction Procedure

- Information entered by users is deleted after the retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved, in accordance with internal policies and relevant laws.

② Destruction Methods

  • - Electronic files: Permanently deleted so they cannot be recovered.
  • - Physical records (printed materials, documents, storage media, etc.): Shredded or incinerated.
