The 16th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan (in Oman & Online) 2023-07-14

Korea-Arab Society hosted a concert of Korean boy-band, B.I.G as a part of the 16th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan on June 9 in Muscat, Oman. This event, sponsored by by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Korea, was held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center (OCEC), and many local K-Pop fans attended and cheered for B.I.G's stage.

 

B.I.G is a Korean group that has gained significant attention and affection in the Arab region since they started releasing cover videos of Arabic songs. In December 2019, the group gained recognition for promoting K-pop in the Arab region and received an award for "Koreans who make their country shine”.

 

In addition to B.I.G, two Arab performers, Mustafa Waad and Anas Marzi, who respectively won the first and the third prizes in the 2022 K-Pop contest for Arabs (Yalla! K-Pop), showed their K-pop performances. The contest was hosted by the Korea-Arab Society and KBS World Arabic.

 

Following the concert in Oman, the online live concert of B.I.G was held on July 9 in Korea. Fans from various Arab countries, such as Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia connected in real time and enjoyed B.I.G's performances.
