The 9th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan in Sudan 2016-10-21

Hosted by the Korea-Arab Society under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Korea and Korea Foundation, the '9th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan' took place from October 16 to 17, 2016, at the Sudanese National Theater in Omdurman and Khartoum Book Fair.

The event was held in Sudan for the first time as a part of the 9th Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan, to be held also in Egypt and Kuwait.


The event’s program included Korean traditional dance performed by 17 dancers from the Gyeonggi Provincial Dance Company, a Taekwondo demonstrations performed by the members of the Sudanese Taekwondo Federation and traditional Sudanese music and dance by the Sudanese Folk Band. It was the invaluable experience to develop the understandings of two countries.





It is worth mentioning that the event was attended by the Sudanese Minister of Culture, Korean Ambassador to Sudan, Secretary General of the Korea-Arab Society as well as many officials and diplomats accredited to Sudan. 


As part of the annual regional tour, which started in 2008, the Caravan event aims at bolstering cultural interactions and mutual understanding between Korea and the Arab.
